Inspection Report¶
After creating the inspect template (.SNITemplate) from the SHINING3D Inspect software and importing it into the device in the resource center, you can generate an inspection report based on the template. An inspection report can be exported to a USB flash drive in PDF or CSV formats.
1. Importing the Inspection Template¶
You can import the template from a USB flash drive; for detailed operations, please refer to Import from USB.
Note
The scanned model must be consistent with the CAD model included in the inspect template.
2. Generating the Inspection Report¶
After selecting the inspect template, tap Inspect to display the inspection results and generate the inspection report. The inspection results will be saved in the project file and can be opened at any time without regeneration.
Note
If the mesh is regenerated or the inspection data is cleared, the inspection report must be regenerated.
After the inspection is complete, the system will indicate success or failure based on the inspection standards of the template. You can also tap to hide the CAD model.
The interface will display statistical information, model quality indicator, and color map:
Statistical Information¶
- Alignment Name: e.g., Best Fit Alignment.
- Maximum Deviation: Indicates the most severe error in the model.
- Minimum Deviation: Indicates the slightest error in the model.
- Average Deviation: A smaller average deviation indicates that the errors in most areas of the model are small.
- RMS Value: A smaller RMS value indicates less fluctuation in errors.
- Standard Deviation: A smaller standard deviation indicates that errors are relatively uniform in most areas.
Model Quality Indicator¶
If the inspection passes, the model color map will be entirely green. If the inspection fails, the model color map will display colors other than green.
Color Map¶

Move ▶ to adjust the tolerance range, and the color of the model surface will change accordingly.
Tap to set the upper tolerance, lower tolerance, maximum value, and minimum value.

3. Viewing/Exporting the Inspection Report¶
Tap to export the report, select the desired export format (PDF or CSV), and the inspection report will be exported to the USB flash drive or PC.
Tap to view the report.
Caution
When the color map is modified, tapping View Report will prompt whether to synchronize the modification.
- If you tap OK: The system will regenerate the report and synchronize the modified content.
- If you tap Cancel: The system will open the original report, and the modified content will not take effect.
This operation only applies to the current report and will not modify the inspect template.
