Flip Scan

You can use Flip Scan to quickly scan the flipped data of the object after scanning the single side; after scanning, the software will automatically align the data, saving your operation time.

Steps

Note

If there is already mesh data in the current project or the imported project, you can skip steps 1-9 and start directly from step 10.

  1. Place the object to be scanned steadily.

  2. After creating the project group and entering the scanning interface, select Scan Global Markers.

  3. Click or press the scan button on the scanner and move the scanner slowly along the surface of the object to collect the markers on it's surface.

  4. After scanning, click or press the scan button on the scanner to pause.
  5. Click to optimize the global markers.
  6. Switch the scan mode to Scan Mesh.

    Note

    You can switch the scan mode by clicking the corresponding scan mode in the software interface or by pressing and holding the left button on the scanner to quickly switch the scan mode.

  7. Click or press the scan button on the scanner. After the scanner starts projecting laser lines, move the scanner slowly along the surface of the object to scan data.

  8. Click or press the scan button to pause; if the scan is complete, proceed to step 9; or you can click or press the scan button on the scanner to continue the scan for collect ing more data and even click to delete the scanned data to scan again.
  9. After scanning, use the Editing Tools (such as select tools, delete tools, Cutting Plane, etc.) in the editing bar at the bottom of the interface to remove unwanted data and redundant markers that are not used for alignment.
  10. Flip the scanned object and place it flat.
  11. Switch to Scan Global Markers again, and the software will automatically create a new project.
  12. Repeat step 3 to scan global markers of the flipped side.

    Note

    When the scanner recognizes enough common markers (≥ 3), the software will automatically identify the front and flipped sides of the scanned object and align the newly scanned markers with the existing markers.

  13. Repeat steps 4-9 to complete the scan; the scanned flipped data will be automatically aligned with the previously scanned data.
