Partial Resolution

By using Partial Resolution (supported in Trak Mode > TE Nova and Laser Mode), you can both save scanning time and get an ideal scanned data.

Caution

  • In Partial Resolution, Open global markers file or Add global markers is not supported.
  • Using Partial Resolution requires both the tracker and the scanner to be online.

Steps

  1. Switch to Partial Resolution after scanning in Scan Mesh.

    Note

    • You can directly import the project for Partial Resolution or scan the data first in Scan Mesh before performing Partial Resolution.
    • Light Source Mode will be automatically switched to Parallel Lines in Partial Resolution. You can switch it to other light source modes according to the reality.
  2. Select either X2 or X4 resolution. The default is X2 resolution, and before any scanning is performed, you can freely switch between X2 resolution and X4 resolution. Once data is scanned using either resolution, you cannot switch to another resolution for further scanning.

    Note

    • X2 Resolution: In this mode, the actual resolution of the scanned data is half of the project resolution; this mode requires the project resolution to be greater than 0.2 mm.
    • X4 Resolution: In this mode, the actual resolution of the scanned data is one-quarter of the project resolution; this mode requires the project resolution to be greater than 0.4 mm.
  3. Review the scanned data to identify areas that need to be re-scanned.

    Note

Click to view the data from different angles. You can also rotate it by holding down Left Button or move it by holding down Middle Button to confirm the area that needs to be scanned in detail.

  4. (Optional) Click or press the scan button on the scanner to preview the model and adjust scan parameters for a better scanning effect.

    Note

    • The data scanned at this time is not automatically saved and is only used for viewing the scanning effect.
    • Preview can be disabled by clicking in the top-right corner of the interface. Once disabled, you can skip the preview step.
  5. Click or press the scan button on the scanner to start scanning.

  6. After scanning, you can use the bottom editing toolbar to edit the data.

    Caution

If you need to switch modes, please to delete all data in the current project. After deletion, you will be able to switch to another scanning mode and resolution mode.

  7. Click / to optimize scanned data.

    Note

The resolution of data scanned in Partial Resolution needs to take effect only after the optimization.

  8. After optimization, you can click to save the data or proceed to Post-Processing or Measurement for other operations.
