Scan Mesh

Through this scan mode, mesh data can be quickly obtained.

Caution

In Trak Mode > UE Nova > Scan Mesh or In Laser Mode > Scan Mesh, please place markers on the object before scanning.

Trak Mode

In Trak Mode, the UE Nova can be used alone or with TE Nova to scan.

UE Nova

Steps

1. Select the scan device as TE Nova.

   Note

   If you need to scan outdoors in strong light, please install a filter on the UE Nova as shown in the following illustration before scanning for better scanning experience. After scanning is complete, remove the filter from the UE Nova and store it properly for future use.

   

2. (Optional) Switch the scan mode to Scan Mesh.

3. (Optional) Click or press the middle button on the tracker to preview scanning. You can check the scanning performance and adjust parameters.

   Note

   • The data scanned at this time is not automatically saved and is only used for viewing the scanning effect.
   • Preview can be disabled by clicking in the top-right corner of the interface. Once disabled, you can skip the preview step.

4. Click or press the middle button on the tracker to scan.

5. Click or press the middle button to pause scanning; click or press the middle button again to resume scanning.

6. After scanning, click to save the data; or you can switch to UE Nova > Partial Resolution to continue scanning.

TE Nova

Caution

It is required that both the tracker and the scanner should be online.

Steps

Note

After switching from UE Nova > Photogrammetry to TE Nova > Scan Mesh, the recognition marker size of Add New Global Markers in Scan Mesh remains consistent with the marker size configured in Photogrammetry.

1. Select the scan device as UE Nova.
2. (Optional) Switch the scan mode to Scan Mesh.

3. (Optional) Click or press the scan button on the scanner to preview scanning. You can check the scanning performance and adjust parameters.

   Note

   • The data scanned at this time is not automatically saved and is only used for viewing the scanning effect.
   • Preview can be disabled by clicking in the top-right corner of the interface. Once disabled,you can skip the preview step.

4. Click or press the scan button on the scanner to scan.

   Note

   During scanning, you can adjust the distance based on distance information displayed on the scanning interface.

5. Click or press the scan button to pause scanning; click or press the scan button again to resume scanning.

6. After scanning, click to save the data.

Caution

• During scanning, please do not block the tracker and scanner.
• During scanning, please ensure that the tracker and the scanned object do not move.
• The scanned data will be cleared when you switch from TE Nova to UE Nova. After switching, you will need to use UE Nova > Scan Mesh mode to re-scan.

Add New Global Markers

When the markers are not fully scanned in Photogrammetry or Scan Global Markers, you can choose Add New Global Markers to scan new global markers.

Laser Mode

Note

In Laser Mode, scanning can start as long as the scanner is online.

The scanning steps are the same as that of TE Nova mode in Trak Mode.
