Reference Adjustment¶
References should be confirmed after the mandibular movement tracking for further design.
Procedure¶
Hinge Axis
Incisal Point
Horizontal Plane
Median Sagittal Plane
Coronal Plane
Caution
- Resetting one step will reset its subsequent steps.
- If the order contains DICOM data, all references are confirmed based on the DICOM model. If not, the intraoral scan or facial scan model is used for confirmation.
Hinge Axis¶
For a DICOM model, points will be automatically placed. For a facial model, you should click to mark a point at the highest point of the mandibular condyle, marking both the right and left condyles separately.

Incisal Point¶
Incisal point is automatically marked by default. If not, click on the midline of the mandibular incisors to mark a point.
Horizontal Plane¶
If it is a DICOM model, a plane parallel to the hinge axis is automatically generated based on three facial points: the left infraorbital point, the upper edge of the left external auditory canal, and the upper edge of the right external auditory canal.
If it is a facial model, a plane parallel to the hinge axis is automatically generated based on three facial points: the left infraorbital point, the left cheek point, and the right cheek point.
Note
- Translation: Press and hold the arrows to drag up or down to move the plane vertically.
- Skewing: Press and drag the points up or down to adjust the tilt angle of the plane.
Mid-Sagittal Plane¶
If it is a DICOM model, a plane perpendicular to the horizontal plane is automatically generated based on the incisal point and the midpoint of the hinge axis.
If it is a facial model, a plane perpendicular to the horizontal plane is automatically generated based on four facial points: the soft tissue nasion, the nasal tip, the nasal base, and the upper lip prominence.
Note
- Translation: Press and drag the arrows left or right to move the plane horizontally.
- Skewing: Press and drag the points left or right to adjust the tilt angle of the plane.
Coronal Plane¶
The coronal plane will be automatically generated based on the positions of the horizontal plane and median sagittal plane.
Virtual Articulator Parameters¶
After all references have beend confirmed, the followign parameters of virtual articulator Amann Girrbach Articulator Parameters will be automatically calculated and displayed:
- Sagittal Condylar Inclination (Left/Right)
- Lateral Condylar Inclination (Left/Right)
- Immediate Side Shift (ISS) (Left/Right)
- Lateral Incisal Inclination (Left/Right)
- Sagittal Incisal Inclination
