Cleaning and Sterilization

Homepage

Steps

  1. Rinse: Remove the scanbody from the patient's mouth and take the screw out (lift the screw from the interface of the scanflag with a driver). Then immediately rinse the scanflag and the screw under flowing water for at least 1 minute to preliminarily remove surface contaminants. Hand washing is recommended, with water temperature between 15℃ and 30℃.
  2. Soak: Submerge the rinsed scanflag and the screw into neutral enzymatic cleaning solution (3M Rapid Multi-Enzyme Cleaner is recommended with a suggested ratio of 5 mL ~ 10 mL of cleaner to 1 L of water). Soak for 2 ~ 10 minutes at a temperature of 25℃ ~ 40℃ to prevent blood coagulation in the screw channel (if the cleaning solution used is not the recommended one, please follow its instructions).
  3. Clean: During soaking, gently agitate to further clean the screw channels by rotating the liquid until soaking is complete.
  4. Rinse: Rinse residual enzymatic cleaning solution from the scanflag and the screw with purified water for at least 1 minute. Ensure no contaminants remain on the surface.
  5. Dry: Gently wipe the scanflag and the screw with a clean, lint-free cloth. Or use an air blow gun to dry the scanflag and the screw. Please ensure that they are dry before sterilization.
  6. Sterilization: Seal the screw with an autoclave bag; place the scanflag in the provided sterilization box and seal the box with an autoclave bag; place two bags in the autoclave machine. Sterilization parameters:

    • Gravity-displacement sterilization: temperature: 121℃; sterilization time: 30 min; drying time: 30 min.
    • Dynamic-air-removal sterilization: temperature: 134℃; sterilization time: 4 min; drying time: 30 min.

Caution:

  1. One sterilized scanbody can only be used for one person.
  2. The scanbody should be sterilized. As a consumable item, please replace the scanbody promptly after 300 times of autoclave.
  3. Do not use metal tweezers to clamp the black part at the top of the scanbody; you can clamp the metal at the bottom to prevent damage to the coding points on the scanbody's surface.
  4. If obvious scratches are found on the scanbody's surface, stop using it immediately and replace it.
  5. After drying, please wait until the scanbody cools to room temperature before taking it out to prevent from scalding.
  6. Do not use ultrasonic wave to clean the scanbody to prevent the coded markers on its surface from being damaged.
  7. Auto-cleaning is not supported. Please clean the scanbody manually.
  8. Before sterilization, please wear clean surgical gloves.

Warning:

  1. There is aluminum in the product. Please avoid using cleaning solution that is sensitive to this material.
  2. Oxidizing agents and strong alkaline agents, such as hydrogen peroxide and potassium hydroxide, can not be used for cleaning the scanbody.
  3. Do not use tap water to clean the scanbody, instead, use purified water.
