3DGS Rendering

3DGS is a 3D rendering technology that reproduces the texture details and lighting effects of a model. You can upload project data to the SHINING 3D Digital Cloud for 3DGS computation; after computation is complete, you can view the rendering result online through a browser.

Requirements

  • You are logged in to your passport account. If not, the login screen appears when you click the 3DGS button.
  • The project data contains textures.
  • The project group contains only one project.
  • The mesh in the post-processing interface is generated by meshing the project data. Externally imported mesh data cannot be used to generate 3DGS.
  • The computer is connected to the internet and is not connected through the device hotspot.

Caution

If a project containing 3DGS data regenerates its mesh and mesh data already exists, the 3DGS data will be overwritten together with the mesh.

Generate 3DGS

  1. In the Post-Processing interface, click the 3DGS button on the right toolbar.

  2. In the 3DGS Rendering dialog box, select a cloud space (default: My Space). The remaining capacity of the space is displayed; click Expand to go to the Digital Cloud for expansion.

  3. Click Start Calculation. The software automatically compresses and uploads the project data.

    • After the upload starts, the upload progress and estimated remaining time are displayed.
    • Click ✕ to the right of the upload progress to cancel the upload; cancellation requires confirmation.
  4. After the upload is complete, the project is automatically queued for cloud computation. You can view the task progress in the lower-right corner of the interface.

  5. When computation is complete, the software displays a prompt, and the View 3DGS button appears at the bottom of the post-processing interface.

Note

After 3DGS is generated, the 3DGS button on the right toolbar is no longer displayed.

View 3DGS

After computation is complete, click the View 3DGS button at the bottom of the post-processing interface to open the online page in your default browser and view the 3DGS rendering result.

FAQ

Prompt Cause and solution
Check your network The computer is not connected to the internet. Check the network connection and try again.
Disconnect the scanner and connect to an available Wi-Fi network Cloud computation is unavailable when connected through the device hotspot. Disconnect the device hotspot and connect to an available network.
Insufficient cloud storage space The remaining capacity of the selected space is insufficient. Click Expand to go to the SHINING 3D Digital Cloud for expansion (the expansion page opens in your default browser), or switch to another space and try again.
The current project has no texture data, so 3DGS cannot be generated The project data does not contain textures, so 3DGS cannot be generated.
