Photogrammetry

Trak Mode supports Photogrammetry. Using Photogrammetry mode, you can scan large objects while ensuring accuracy. After scanning, you can save the data or switch to Scan Point Cloud mode to continue scanning.

Photogrammetry mode is only supported by EinScan Trak Pro

After scanning global markers in Photogrammetry, there may be color indications around the outer ring of the markers. After generating the markers, the color indication will disappear.

  • If there is no additional color around the outer ring of the markers, it indicates that the quality of the scanned markers is normal.
  • If there is an orange ring around the outer ring of the markers, it indicates that the quality of the scanned markers is low; low-quality markers data may disappear or be displayed abnormally after data processing.
  • There is no color indication for newly added markers in Scan Point Cloud.

Steps

Caution

  • Newly added global markers in Scan Point Cloud mode cannot be optimized in photogrammetry.
  • Do not place the scanner within the tracker's field of view to avoid misidentification that may affect scanning quality and accuracy. Alternatively, you can enable Detecting Scanner Frame in General Settings to filter out the scanner's markers recognized within the field of view.
  1. Place the calibration rod in the scanning scene.

    Note

    Photogrammetry can also be performed without the calibration rod. However, if a higher level of scanning accuracy is required, it is recommended to use the calibration rod.

  2. Select Trak Mode > Photogrammetry.

  3. (Optional) Click or press the middle button on the tracker to enter preview mode. You can check the scanning effect and adjust scan parameters.

    Note

    • The data scanned at this time is not automatically saved and is only used for viewing the scanning effect.
    • Preview can be disabled by clicking in the top-right corner of the interface. Once disabled, you can skip the preview step.
  4. Click or press the middle button on the tracker to start scanning markers along the object surface. The left side of the interface will display the number of markers that can be aligned / the total number of markers in the scene.

    Note

    • Do not move the calibration rod during scanning to avoid recognition issues.
    • After placing the calibration rod, collect the markers data on the front side of the calibrator.
    • After pausing the scan, you can place the calibration rod in a new position for collection. In a single project, up to 10 collections are supported.
  5. During scanning, adjust the scanning distance based on the color indicator at the edge of the scanning interface and the distance indication:

    • Blue indicates the scanning distance is too far.
    • Yellow indicates the scanning distance is too close.
    • No color indicates the scanning distance is appropriate.

  6. After completing the collection, click or press the middle button on the tracker to pause scanning.

  7. Click or long press the middle button on the tracker to optimize the markers.

    Note

    After optimization, the rod model will disappear from the software interface.

  8. After optimization, click to save the data, or switch to Scan Point Cloud mode to continue scanning.

    Note

    After scanning, you can remove the calibration rod, then switch to Scan Point Cloud for point cloud scanning.
