Feature

Click Feature in the top navigation bar to enter the feature module, where you can create cross-sections, and use assisted feature creation or directly create features to create other features.

Created features can be used for inspection and as the datum for inspection.

Basic Concepts

Concept
Description
Reference feature Auxiliary geometric features created using various feature creation methods, and are used to assist in the creation of measured features.
Feature extraction Extract measured points for fitting on the measured model based on reference features, and fit measured features based on the extracted points.
Measured feature Use feature extraction, fit creation method, etc. to calculate features on actual scan data on the measured model.
Feature pair A reference feature and a corresponding extracted measured feature.
The methods for generating feature pairs: Right-click on a feature group that contains a reference feature in the left tree view, and select Extract Measured Feature for extraction, or select Pair Measured Features for manual pairing.
Note
  • When a feature is paired to another feature, the original feature will be deleted.
  • Currently activated alignments and measured features associated with activated alignments cannot be paired.
  • Only feature pairs with reference features support pairing measured features.
  • Paired measured features do not participate in recalculation.
  • Group Multiple features can be combined for quick one-click management and measurement.
Pattern Generate new array features of the same type, which can be used for subsequent geometric tolerance inspection.

    Note

    • If a created feature is deleted or replaced, its associated objects will also be affected.
    • Through the tree view, created reference or measured features can be exported; if multiple features are selected, they will be merged into one model file (STP, STEP, IGS, IGES) when exporting.
